Poonam gained on 6 kg for the movie 6
In the current trend where actresses were more eager to shed some kilos, Poonam Kaur has done the reverse! For VZ Durai's 6, which stars Shaam in the lead, the actress put on 6 kilos to look bubbly. The role has two looks. In one portion of the movie, she has to look younger and in the rest, mature.
Poonam admits that she was initially hesitant to do so as it could affect her other projects. But director Durai had showed her a pic of another actress and told me that people in Tamil Nadu prefer actresses who are "a little on the Healthier side". She was 51 kg before signing up the film and by the time she had finished the shooting it was 51+6=57 kg!!
About Poonam Kaur: Poonam Kaur was born and raised in Hyderabad, India, after completing her schooling she joined fashion designing at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi. After her graduation she acted in a movie which didn't take off for unknown reason, later she did a lead role in another Telugu film Mayajalam, which released first. So far she acted in 14 films and 8 films are in progress.
